Trail of Terror – Wallingford, CT
This past Saturday night, Halloween New England returned to Wallingford, CT for another trip through the woods at Trail of Terror!
Greeted at the entrance by their new towering, multi-story estate, we wandered through the wooded path, navigating so much more than just the darkness. We screamed, shrieked, laughed, and jumped, with the trail keeping our heads on a swivel from beginning to end. The energetic actors were plentiful throughout, and the scenic details were incredible. Every scene was filled with so much to see that it was nearly impossible to take it all in.This hour-long walk through the three-acre wooded property even includes a section at the midway point where visitors can pause to catch their breath, grab a snack, and gather their courage for the trail's second half.
With more than 30 scenes tucked into the woods, the trail continued to evolve as we moved deeper into the attraction, mixing traditional haunted rooms and themes with new scenes we hadn't experienced in a haunt before. Clever obstacles along the trail made the journey itself part of the experience, but we don't want to spoil the surprises!
A huge thank you to the Trail of Terror team for having Halloween New England back for another night in the woods. What an accomplishment they've pulled off this season!

The Dark Manor – Baltic, CT
Halloween New England headed into the Connecticut countryside for a night at The Dark Manor in Baltic, CT!The drive along the curvy backroads and over village bridges built the anticipation of our visit, and there's nothing quite like arriving at a haunt to be greeted by a giant Grim Reaper staring down from the roof!
With more than 20 years of terror behind it, The Dark Manor guided us along an outdoor haunted trail through a graveyard packed with mausoleums, undead creatures, and animatronics. Unnervingly quiet corridors worked in tandem with well-timed jump scares, while a blend of indoor and outdoor scenes kept characters lurking around corners and catching us when we least expected it. The haunt-goers here were in for an energetic experience, and the evening brought plenty of screaming mixed with welcome laughter from the sheer enjoyment of the walk-through.
Thank you to The Dark Manor for having Halloween New England out for an evening of screams!

Tracks of Terror: Bloodlines – Essex, CT
On Friday night, Halloween New England headed to Essex Steam Train & Riverboat for a sneak peek at Tracks of Terror: Bloodlines, a multimedia, immersive haunt experience with an exciting storyline that carries the show forward from start to finish. The evening began in a train yard, where we boarded vintage train cars for a short walk-through that brought us to the foot of a foreboding barn. Inside, we watched a stunningly produced short horror film recounting the history of a 19th-century massacre and the sinister family legacy of Silas Crowhurst, whose story has haunted the community for decades.
Through a blend of theatrical scenes, witches, vignettes, walk-throughs, steam train rides, and interactive guest participation, we encountered restless spirits and the dark consequences of the past. The evening unfolded across several stages, delivering thrills, scares, screams, and plenty of enthusiastic participation and laughter from the guests.
The experience wrapped up with a final train ride through the darkness of the Connecticut River Valley, creating a spooky, stunning finale packed with a unique atmosphere. With its horror-inspired storyline and clever theatrical elements, this is an experience haunt lovers will want to explore. We definitely recommend purchasing tickets in advance, as there are a limited number of spots per time slot.
