We are moving at warp speed toward Halloween and we keep adding more events to our state-by-state Halloween events calendars every day! This week is serving up something for everyone who loves Halloween - we have events to appeal to haunt-goers, scaredy-cats, ghostly tale lovers, Jack-o-Lantern fans. We've got events for folks who want to go out, for folks who prefer to stay home, and events for absolutely everyone in between.

Spooky-not-Scary Events at Area Haunts
There are two spooky-not-scary walk-throughs at area haunts happening this week which are the perfect experience for Halloween fans who have the spirit of the season but would have no interest in the startles and scares.
The first one up takes place this Thursday, October 14th in Shelton, CT where you're invited to Spooky Nights Halloween Lights at Legends of Fear. This self-guided walk along their 1/2 mile-long wooded trail will feature their haunt house scenery and scenic lights without actors for an evening under the stars. Advance tickets are required and very limited tickets are available.
Also Thursday, October 14th will be Fright Night Lite at Haunted Overload in Lee, NH. Sound, lights, and fog will be in full swing but this is an actor-free, scare-free time as you walk through the wooded trail is lined with treetop-tall handmade creatures, vibrant colorful lighting, and fascinating scenery. Advance tickets strongly suggested.
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00am-4:00pm is the Daytime Haunt self-guided walk at Haunted Overload. This daytime version is actor-free, scare-free, and sound-off. You'll be glad you made the trip to this event because there is no better way to appreciate the craftsmanship of the stunningly detailed and uber-creative scenery. As with everything, advance tickets are the way to go--and it's only $8!

Ultra Scary Events at Area Haunt
If you are itching to bring your Halloween adrenaline up five notches, you are in luck with an interesting layer to ramp up your haunt experience in RI.
Did you know that 13th World Haunted Trail in Cumberland, RI offers their Touch-of-Fear add-on upgrade every night they are open? For an extra $5 you can ratchet up your night when you consent to a hands-ON, interactive experience from the haunt actors! Haunt customers who have done this have raved to us there is no other way they'd want to go through from now on. the real question is, how brave are you?
Spooky Stories to Put you in the Halloween Mood
They had us at chocolate cake! This Wednesday, October 13th you won't want to miss the first of two special fireside evenings inside the Thoreau Room at the Colonial Inn in Concord, MA. It is there that you'll find Ghosts in the Gloaming - Fireside Ghost Stories being brought to you by the Concord Tour Company. Rounded out with a serving of chocolate cake, coffee, and tea, this event is sure to be a wonderfully spooky Halloween treat! Can't make it to this Wednesday's event? There's an encore evening of Ghosts in the Gloaming on Wednesday, October 27th. Advance tickets are a must!
Seaside Shadows Haunted History Tours in Mystic, CT always has a jam-packed October of amazing and unique special events for Halloween fans! Get your tickets now for the Spooky Story Dinner they are hosting at the historic and haunted Daniel Packer Inne next Wednesday, October 20th.

Connecticut Halloween Events (Full Guide)

"Shoreline Epidemics through the Centuries" focuses on the dark and true history of the CT shoreline while you journey through the Thames' macabre past. A variety of diseases once spread through this notable region -- what were they? How did they get here? What spirits did they leave behind?
Brush up on your SFX skills for Halloween when you join The Makeup Curio in Milford, CT on Saturday, October 16th for the 1-Day SFX Makeup Intensive Course! This incredible opportunity for you to learn to transform into a zombie with techniques such as cuts and bruises, hair creation, bald capping, and prosthetic application. Course fee includes a makeup kit including 3rd Degree, bruise wheel, foam latex prosthetics, and more. Proof of Covid vaccination is required upon registration. This is a 16+ event. Be on the lookout for Halloween New England here - we'll be popping in during the afternoon to see these makeup artists at work!
On Saturday, October 16th, Gallery 53 in Meriden, CT is hosting a Wicked Woods festival all week long and you can kick off with horror short- films at the Wicked Woods: Horror Short Film Fest starting at 7:00pm.
New Hampshire Halloween Events (Full Guide)
The attention to detail is staggering and “Fright Night Lite” allows you to experience all of the sights and sounds of Haunted Overload without having actors to scare you.
Fright Lite is an excellent Halloween event for those who love Halloween atmosphere, would enjoy the feast for the senses that Haunted Overload provides, and would like to dial their evening fun to "slightly spooky never scary".
Join the Pope Memorial Humane Society for their annual Howl for the Animals event at Haunted Overload at DeMeritt Hill Farm this Saturday, October 16th in Lee, NH. This year’s event features crafts, raffles, and more including a special trick-or-treat through the haunt.
Non-scary characters will be on hand to pass out candy and guests are encouraged to come in costume. Before entering the haunt, guests will have the chance to decorate their own trick-or-treat bag. The day haunt is also dog-friendly so be sure to bring every member of your family.
Just $8 per person and all proceeds benefit the Pope Memorial Humane Society.
At dusk, the Androscoggin River will be lit up with fires that appear to be floating on the water! The blazes will actually burn on the historic boom piers that dot the river. For RiverFire, these old piers will be stacked with skids, which when set aflame create a dynamic contrast of light over the dark waters. Take a walk along the bridge and admire the wonderful glowing carved pumpkins on the bridge. RiverFire features fun, family-oriented activities such as Hayrides, Helicopter rides, Costume Parade and much, much more.
To share the Halloween love every year, Port City Makerspace offers Free Costume-Building Nights to encourage people to go above and beyond for the costume!
Their classroom space and Electronics Lab spaces are open for use during these nights.
Members and volunteers will be around to work on their costumes and help you with yours! If you need help with another part of the shop, they can help you operate the equipment or guide you through the workspaces. Many tools are available for use for guests, like the following: 3D Printers, Cricut Maker, Sewing Machines, Laser Cutter, Hotwire Cutter, and lots of hand tools. Want to use one of these but don't know how? Just ask!

This fun community gathering for every age, the Goffstown Pumpkin Festival, and Regatta is a weekend-long celebration starting with the giant pumpkin weigh-off on Saturday and the hilarious pumpkinboat regatta capping off the weekend on Sunday afternoon.
The regatta is a humorous event where people ride the Piscataquog River in their enormous pumpkins-turned-boats--something you have to see to believe!
Kids games, pie-eating contests, doggie costume contests, pumpkin slingshots, pumpkin cook-offs, food, crafts, and more! Other highlights include the pumpkin catapults, a giant pumpkin drop, pumpkin races, and more.

Rhode Island Halloween Events (Full Guide)
With advance tickets, you can visit the Jack O'Lantern Spectacular's reimagined and stroll through carved pumpkin and Halloween display which is open 7 nights a week at the Zoo. Even better, they are hosting a series of special event nights over the next two weeks! You'll want to check out Superhero Night at the Jack-O'- Lantern Spectacular on Wednesdays October 13th and 20th where you'll enjoy meeting some of your favorite heroes before going on the pumpkin trail.
Docents in period mourning attire provide a tour through this extensive exhibit that is displayed in every room of the house.
Vermont Halloween Events (Full Guide)
As the curators of “The Paranormal Couple’s Haunted Museum of Objects, Oddities, and Curiosities: The Traveling Exhibition”, both Satori and Cody have built up quite the collection of creepy oddities and haunted objects. This library-sponsored event will be held off-site at The Great Hall in Springfield.
Maine Halloween Events (Full Guide)
Start your weekend Friday, October 15th with a Guided “slightly scary and kinda’ creepy” nighttime tour of historic downtown Presque Isle, Maine by lantern light.
Presque Isle Haunted History Lantern Tours are held rain or shine, walking tours need no reservations, Trolley Tours do require reservations.
The truth is out there and on Saturday, October 16th you'll find the 4th annual Parafest Maine in Vassalboro, ME. The Paranormal festival returns in 2021 hosted by paranormal teams G.R.I.M. And C.M.G.H. Enjoy Paranormal Lectures and Workshops all day long. Paranormal investigators, Ufologists, Psychics and Mediums, and Cryptozoologists will all be there.
While you are at Parafest, make sure to see When Objects Talk Back: A Look into Haunted Objects & Paranormal Research. This event is held as part of the programming at Parafest Maine and is included in the Parafest ticket price. On Wednesday, October 20th, moonrise is at 6:08pm, and sunset is at 5:50pm. The October Full Moon was often called the Hunter's Moon, the Travel Moon, or the Dying Moon, as well as other names. Discover moon lore, poems, and stories, at the Full Moon Walk at The Wells Reserve at Laudholm in Wells, ME. Join a naturalist to watch the sunset from one of the highest points in Wells, then meander to the beach to watch the moon rise. Come experience the Reserve at night, listening for owls and other wildlife. This is a great family experience for those who can enjoy the quiet.
